Many
rocks are the mixture of minerals like granite. Rocks are classified on the
basis of how they are formed. There are three groups of rocks i.e. igneous,
sedimentary and metamorphic. There
distinctions are made for texture or grain size and mineral or chemical content.
Sedimentary rocks are made up of particles of sand, pebbles, shells and other
fragments of material. When these all particles come together it is known as
sediment. A rock samples is defined as stress condition in the lab. The stress
strain diagram shows you the non-linear relations of small strains, hysteresis,
anisotropy and many others. All these are used for mechanical designing simulations
